| 1 ball (approx. 300g or 10.5 oz) | Pizza dough |
| 250g (1.5 cups) | Cooked chicken breast |
| 120ml (1/2 cup) | BBQ sauce |
| 50g (1/4 medium) | Red onion |
| 150g (1.5 cups) | Mozzarella cheese |
| 15g (1/4 cup) | Cilantro |
| 1 tbsp (15ml) | Olive oil |
Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). If you have a pizza stone or steel, place it in the oven while it preheats. Lightly dust a clean surface with flour or cornmeal.
Gently stretch or roll out the pizza dough into your desired shape, approximately 30cm (12 inches) in diameter. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal or directly onto a piece of parchment paper.
Brush the edges of the pizza dough lightly with olive oil. This helps create a golden, crispy crust.
Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Make sure to get a good, even layer.
Scatter the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the BBQ sauce. This will form a cheesy base for the toppings.
Distribute the cooked chicken and thinly sliced red onions over the cheese layer. Ensure an even distribution so every slice gets a bit of everything.
Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone/steel or place the parchment paper with the pizza directly onto the oven rack. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
Once baked, carefully remove the pizza from the oven. Sprinkle the fresh chopped cilantro over the hot pizza. The heat will slightly wilt the cilantro, releasing its fresh aroma.
Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the cheese to set slightly, making for cleaner slices.
